Luke Combs Headlines First Ever Stadium Show

I've known Luke Combs since the late 2000s, when we both students at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Inspired by Eric Church (who also attended ASU), Luke picked up a guitar while in college and eventually started playing the bar scene. He quickly grew a following and eventually decided to take a shot at Nashville. A few short years later, Luke was rising up the country charts with his debut single "Hurricane" and eventually signed a record deal with Sony Music Nashville. He's since posted eleven number one country songs at country radio.

Over Labor Day weekend, Luke returned home to the place where it all started. Over 32,000 fans climbed "The Rock" - Appalachian State University's Kidd Brewer Stadium to see Luke headline his first ever stadium show.

Luke's reverence for Boone was clear as he recalled writing "Let The Moonshine" in his college apartment.

Luke used his headliner status as an opportunity to promote and share the stage with some of his friends. Adam Church, who opened the show, used to play bars with Luke around Boone when he was first starting out. Luke also offered opening slots to Drew Parker, who helped Luke write Forever After All, and Ray Fulcher, who has co-written a number of Luke's songs.

I am so proud of Luke! It's great to be a Mountaineer.
