Carrie Underwood got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, and got pretty emotional during the ceremony. The singer cried happy tears almost from the start, as she thanked her family and fans during her speech, which had her reflecting on her small town roots.
“How is this my life?" Carrie said. "How does a girl from Muskogee, Oklahoma, end up with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? I'll tell you how -- belief. I've been so blessed in my life to have ... so many people who believed in me."
She also thanked her husband Mike Fisher, who she called “an incredible man…who thinks I'm so much better than I actually am in every way.” She thanked Mike for “believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom and supporting me through all of this,” and also went on to thank her son Isaiah, noting he was the best thing they "ever did."
Finally, she added, “This is absolutely amazing and a dream come true. That's how this happens -- belief. So believe in people, believe in yourselves and just thank you."
