The University of Louisville has hired Chris Mack to be its new men's basketball coach. This was first reported by Jody Demling of CardinalAuthority.com.
Mack comes from Xavier where he led the Muskateers to a 212-96 record over nine years including a 29-6 record and a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament this season.
The position became available after UofL decided not to retain interim head coach David Padgett. Padgett took over following the firing of Rick Pitino last fall.
A news conference is expected Wednesday afternoon to introduce Mack as the new UofL coach.
