Stuff The Camper With School Supplies with WAMZ's Dingo and Ashley

Students participating in after school programming facilitated by Family & Children’s Place will benefit from an upcoming school supply drive. iHeartMedia station WAMZ along with Cunningham Campers will be collecting supplies on Friday, August 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2200 Addmore Lane in Clarksville, IN.

Through the Collaborative Learning After School Program (CLASP) and Bridges to Success: Next Steps, Family & Children’s Place works in tandem with Hazelwood Middle School in New Albany, Meyzeek Middle School and Englehard Elementary School in Louisville, KY to provide family-centered help designed to improve academic success and strengthen families. In addition, programs build character, social competency and bolster relationships between the student, family and school. Plans are in place for the return of in-person programming throughout the 2021-2022 school year after being virtual last year.

Pam Darnall, President and CEO for Family & Children’s Place said, “We are beyond grateful to companies like Cunningham Campers and iHeartMedia who recognize the value in our programs and make efforts to support us.” Family & Children’s Place has been a recipient of iHeartMedia’s nonprofit partnership grant for the past two years which has allowed more publicity to address the safety and protection of children in our community.

“The one thing I can say about Kentuckiana is whenever I've asked them to help do anything they come out in droves and that's what makes this community so special!” said Dingo, 97.5 WAMZ on-air personality. “I can't wait to show everyone what we can do by coming together!” Donations of backpacks, writing utensils, notebooks and all other types of school supplies are being accepted. Thanks to Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill, donors have the opportunity to win free tacos for a year. Pam Stallings, Chief Experience Officer at Salsarita’s said, “We have donated Tacos for a Year to hopefully help encourage the community to show up! We are so excited to continue to work together in our community!”
