My Picks For Best ACM Award Performances

The ACM Awards brought the fun last night with performances from iconic Nashville venues the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry, Bluebird Cafe, and the Station Inn.

My favorite performance took place on the street - Little Big Town (minus Phillip Sweet who had to miss the show due to COVID-19) brought the Wine, Beer, and Whiskey to Music City's Lower Broadway. Could Karen and Kimberly be any more glamourous?

Another highlight of the night was husband and wife Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris putting their chemistry on full display with their duet "Chasing After You." While Ryan has written a lot of songs with Maren and has been featured on several of her records, this is the first time we've seen him truly step out into the spotlight one of country's biggest stages.

Carrie Underwood brought the house down, taking us to church with a compilation of songs from her gospel album My Savior.

This was another stunner. Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney, who share their hometown of Knoxville, teamed up for "Half of My Hometown."

Dierks Bentley got his bluegrass on with The War & Treaty with a powerful performance of U2's "In The Name Of Love." I might have shed a tear on this one.

And I can't not mention Miranda Lambert. Girl was all over the ACM Awards last night, performing "In His Arms" with her Marfa Tapes collaborators Jack Ingram and John Randall, and joining Chris Stapleton on "Maggie's Song." But it was her collaboration with Elle King, "Drunk (And I Don't Want To Go Home)" that I loved the most. It made me want to go buy a fringe jacket and tear up the town with my girl gang.
