New Orleans resident Scott Mccrossen caught this video of neon green slime floating down a West Metairie canal Wednesday, just ahead of St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Unlike Chicago, which dyes its Chicago River green to celebrate Irish heritage, this greening up of the canal isn't for St. Patrick's Day. Rather, Jefferson Parish officials say it's a dye that helps detect leaks in pipes. NOLA.com has the full story here.
