A northern Indiana couple got themselves into a bit of a pickle when they both were caught for drunk driving in the same location and at the same time.

Donald Ricketts of Poseyville, Indiana, was involved in a crash on Monday, September 13, around 8:30 p.m. on State Route 165. His SUV sideswiped a tractor trailer when he drifted across the center line and into on-coming traffic, according to Indiana State Police.

Since his home wasn't too far away, Donald called his wife Cheral Ricketts to pick him up.

Cheral arrived at the crash scene and slammed into Donald's SUV, which is still in the middle of the road.

Both of the couple's vehicles were totaled.

Troopers who arrived at the scene noted that both Donald and Cheral Ricketts showed "signs of impairment." Donald Ricketts registered a blood-alcohol level of .28 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit of .08 in Indiana. His wife registered a BAC of .22 percent.

Donald was taken to a nearby hospital for a minor medical issue while Cheral was booked into the Posey County Jail.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
