Volunteers Help Clean Up Camp On Opening Day

After a big storm took down massive trees in New Hampshire, dozens of volunteers in the Manchester area have come out to clean up Camp Carpenter so hundreds of Boy Scouts and their families can still come camping. No one was hurt during the storms and thanks to all the help clearing trees, the camp will be ready for opening day.

"The damage was pretty significant, could've been a lot worse," says Chris Hopkins, Director of Support Services of the Daniel Webster Council. "They'll have plenty of firewood for building camp fires."

People came to work at Camp Carpenter with their own chainsaws and gear, happy to lend a hand. “Boy Scouts is a big, fun part of my life,” explains volunteer Theodore Mongeau. “Had a lot of people help me. So now that I’m an adult, it’s time to come back and do it all over again helping.”
